The Jeffersontown Fire Prevention office is supervised by Major Thomas Darst,
who joined the JFPD in 1980. Major Darst received his Associates degree in fire
administration in 1982 and then his Bachelors from Eastern Kentucky University in 1984.
Shortly after graduation Tom was hired by the JFPD as the assistant Fire Marshal.
Major Darst has been serving his hometown as the Fire Marshal since 2000.

Please allow for at least two weeks notice on all events except the instalation of new smoke detectors. A fire department representive will contact you to confirm your event. If you have not been contacted one week before your event please contact Major Tom Darst Mon-Fri  8am-4pm at 502-267-7300.
